Bill Gates's Quotes

It is interesting for me to read those famous people's quotes, because I think their life must be full of stories or meaningful so that they will think out those meaningful sentences and share it to the world. They must be have gone through a lots of hard time and trained them to be more experience in life.

I would like to share few of the quotes from Bill Gates's that I prefer.

1. Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

2. I believe that if you show people the problems and you show them the solutions they will be moved to act.

3.  If you think your teacher is tough, wait until you get a boss. He doesn't have tenure.

4.  Life is not fair; get used to it.

5.  We always overestimate the change that will occur in the next two years and underestimate the change that will occur in the next ten. Don't let yourself be lulled into inaction.

When I saw these quotes it really inspired me a lot in my life. I have not go through all of these so I still cannot understand of how these quotes were created and the real meaning behind the words.

How to relate to creativity?
Well, when you have your life meaningful, and you will become creative in your life automatically.
You control your life, how you want it to be creative, it is up to you.

Inspiration (11) - Creative Thinking and Idea Generation

I am already searching for jobs for my next 1-month semester break even the break have not started yet because I hope to get a good job during the holiday as I do not want to waste my time doing nothing at home, and yes, this is also the first time I'm coming out to the society.

I have searched a lots of part time jobs around my area, and I can see on so many websites, 90% of the jobs (part time) is as a promoter, but I do not wish to work as a promoter.

There are few jobs that I would like to do in my future. First 1, designer that only uses "mouth" to design. I remember Miss Ruth mention before that there are few types of designer out there, such as designer that only use hand to design without brain or mouth. This type of designer they only do exactly what project that is given to them. They could not think of the idea themselves, but they can do well with the design given as they have good designing skills. Next type of designer is as opposite to the first one. The second designer uses mouth and brain to design. This type of designer do not have good designing skills, but they have a lots of good design ideas! The last one will be the insane one, good in both sides and that would not be me because I do not really like to use hand draw.  =.=

The second job that I would like to do in my future is event planner. I do not know when and do not know why I started love event planning job, but I think it might because I love to do those craft DIY thingy, BUT NOT DRAW!

So, I have tried to search for jobs related to both of this. I have found few jobs that are designing, but their pay are TOO LOW, really really low, as low as RM15 per page! I do not know whether should I do or not, as I cannot find jobs related to event planning.

Luckily, I attended a friend's 21st birthday party, and the party inspired me!
Why?
It is because all the parties that I have attended this year are all almost the same. Not much decorating, and even it has, it is not interesting.

So, I have a plan, and the plan is I will decorate my boyfriend's and my 21st birthday party! If it's successful, I think I will have a lots of friends asking who's the planner, and by that I can promote myself and my decorating design!!!

Hopefully my dream would come true. So, to make myself more creative, I will attend all the parties or event held before reaches my boyfriend's 21st birthday which is next year August, and get all the inspiration from others' design!

Inspiration (10) - Creative Thinking and Idea Generation

A Song

Recently we can hear few of the super duper famous hot songs keep on repeating and repeating on the radio, sharing the songs from Youtube on Facebook,  in school, friends and anywhere that you can find devices that could play songs.

During the early half year of 2012, a Korean song named "Fantasic Baby" by BigBang influenced a lots of people, nationwide. We'll just take examples from our country Malaysia. Even though most of the Malaysian could not understand Korean language, but the song had already marked in their mind, and I have a lots of friends plus almost 80% Malaysian listen to that song  NEARLY everyday.

Fantasic Baby's genre is pop, but then a song before that suddenly inspired me to change this Golden title song into a more sentimental type, I would say acoustic type. I heard the acoustic version of "DJ's got us falling in love" last year, and it really gives a big impact on my knowledge towards music. A same song, in 2 different version, genre, feeling, but both still sounds very nice. I never thought of doing that!

Seems that someone had try on changing the old pop song into acoustic song, why not I also try to change the song into acoustic version, since the song "Fantasic Baby" is so famous till now, the fans of this song might like it?

Well it takes time to change, it is not that easy because you have to find the suitable melody with suitable chords. I think I will start this "mission" during my upcoming semester break, and hopefully it will success.
If I succeed and I keep on doing a lots of this, it will improve my creativity in music sense. If you do not know how to compose your own song, then you MODIFY others' songs.

A Reason that Inspired Me

My boyfriend is having a three-months semester break, so before that he decide to look for a job instead of staying at home, "growing mushroom"!

Him and I try to search for part-time job around Selangor area, of course it will be nearer the better. We found a lot of vacancies through internet websites, but due to he has no working experience, so we had to filter out a lot. Luckily, he has some skills like repair computer or IT stuff. So we try to aim for jobs that are related to that skill. After few days searching result, we targeted 2 jobs that fulfil nearby Klang area and part time without experience requirement. 

We called both company to ask whether they still want to hire the vacancy stated on their advertisement or not, and yes they want!

So then, he need to do a tough decision because both of the jobs' working time are clashed. The first job will be as a promoter, work 10 hours a day and salary will be RM100/day. The second job will be as an IT technician, work 10 hours a day as well, but only get RM50/day.

After knowing all the details about the job, he make a shocking decision, he chooses the low salary and troublesome job -- IT technician. I ask for his reason of why he chooses that job instead of the easy, high pay promoter job, and the working place of the promoter job is much more nearer to his house compared to the technician working place!

Thus, he says his reason that inspire me ad changes my thought :" If I choose to work as a promoter, I'll get RM100/day with just standing there whole day, but I learn nothing. If I choose to work as a technician, although I only get RM50/day and have to busy around with the computers, but at least it let me learn more extra knowledges about IT stuff and I can enjoy doing the work because it's my interest."

Now I realize youngsters nowadays will choose a job that is easy with high salary, they willing to do a very easy job that they would not learn anything from it. Our life will become meaningless if we repeat meaningless routine or job everyday in our life. Aiming to earn quick and easy money also cause your life to have no any challenges and colorless as well.

Thanks to my boyfriend for giving me such a good inspiration to make my life more meaningful and he is only 20 years old this year. I would always remember that phrase whenever I want to find a job. Find a job that could let you learn something. I think I will improve a lot in sense of creativity if I find a creativity-related job for current part time and also in the future. Although sometimes the salary might not so high, but at least you will get something you needed for your life and career. 

Inspiration (8) - Creative Thinking and Idea Generation

I do not know how should I start this post, but it is roughly about my interest through out my life.
I love arts since I was small,  it is because I learned piano since I was 6 and I only stop for about half year due to SPM. Therefore, maybe I love music so much and it bring up my interest towards design and drawing. 

I do not have the chance to learn about design during primary and secondary school. I just have Pendidikan Seni subject during my school time.

After my SPM, I decided to take Graphic Design and Multimedia course instead of other design courses. I would like to take fashion or interior design at first, but it is not as advantage as graphic design. First reason is, it is a part of design. Second reason, it has the widest job field compared to other design courses, because a lots of field require graphic designer.

Recently, I saw a lots of photo of very nice dresses and wedding dress on facebook. In sudden, I fell in love with those dresses. I have not been wearing dresses for years as last time I was fat so I could not wear dresses.

I do not know how to express more now, so I straight away talk about the main point.

The main point is,  these dresses inspire me, inspire me to design dresses. I would not say I will give up on Graphic Design and Multimedia, is just that designing dresses will be part of my hobby from now on.

Now the fashion trend for dress is design with short infront, and long at the back, as example:

First Outdoor Photo Shooting For Photography Subject

Last Saturday, I went to Malacca for photo shooting trip organized by my photography subject lecturer, Miss Lee. Miss Lee told us about this plan during week 2 and whole class decided to have this trip on Saturday on week 7. A lots of us are quite exciting because that will be our very first time, going out in group of 60++ photography students.  


The main reason we had this trip is to let us capture our photos for next assignment. Miss Lee said that she wanted us to explore a new place instead of capturing photo nearby us only.
My next assignment for photography is " Picture Composition I & II". We need to capture all 11 photos, and choose the best 2 from each category.

I am so lucky that when I try to capture some photo at Fort A' Famosa, a group of people was busying preparing for something. I saw a girl wearing wedding gown, and I roughly can expect that they are having photoshooting session. Thank God, it was true, and I got the chance to take this special moment!

At first, I was not so sure about what are Line, and Shape and Form. So I use my camera as my eyes, snap every thing that consist of the element. It was very hard to find at first by looking at the surrounding with only bare eyes, because the surrounding looked so normal, but after I used camera as my second eyes, I found that there are more thing to see when we see thru the camera. Our eyes have wide angle, but camera has frame, so it can crop out anything unwanted.
Therefore, I found the element "Line" on the staircase. If we use bare eyes to see, it will be an ordinary staircase, but if we use camera to "crop" it out, it will only have lines or element that you want.

For Shape and Form, I found that the wheels of a bicycle would be a good photo for shape because it can be an obvious circle.

After this trip, I had realised that I have to fully utilise my camera, as my camera could help me to see this beautiful world, in different angle, different perspective, different view, and at the same time, enhance my creativity for photography.

What??!
Recently, I have saw 1 photo or news which surprise me. Well I knew other this kind of shocking news long time ago, but still not really believe it until recently I saw this photo from Facebook.

It is a news about a painting by Joan Miro sold for about $37.7 million Cdn!
The painting called Peinture (Etoile Bleue), and it was an abstract from his dream painting cycle. 
There is no explanation about what does this painting really means, just a simply abstract work from him.

Even great artist, Pablo Picasso's work - Homme Assis was only sold for $9.9 million.

This news / painting that I do not understand why really inspired me because I have always feel bad about my drawing and painting.

There are a lots of good students who always get grade A for their work in my class, and I get grade B. So there is always a stupid thought from me that: I would hardly survive in this society, because even in my class already have quite many good student, so there will be more out there.

All of this above are some of my best work during Drawing class for semester 1. The total grade I got was only B+, not even A-. A lot of them get A-, A and even A+. So I felt very disappointed and depressed.

Until recently, I get some inspiration about this matter. This is Art, not all people have the same judgement toward an artwork. A same artwork, some might feel it's a bad work but some might feel it's a great work.
I might feel my artworks are not good artwork, but now I believed that there will be someone out there that would appreciate my work. =)

So, I should keep my passion higher toward arts and do not give up because there are a lots of chances waiting for me outside!

I am taking two subjects called Creative Thinking and Idea Generation and Creative Communication Design this semester, and I love this two subjects so much because it is a quite interesting subjects that need us to brainstorm for creative ideas for our assignments. This two subjects mostly teach us on how to develop good creative ideas, have a better idea for our assignments such as "Point-Of-Purchase" and "Children Storybook" which I am doing right now.


I love give stupid or creative ideas, design and do assignments that require you to DIY - Do it yourself. We need to do a mini mock-up for point-of-purchase assignment and that will be a challenge for me because I never do it before. Besides, me and my group need to design and create a "Children Storybook" too! I dislike those boring, dead, theory-based assignments, they are really killing me!

Inspiration (4) - Creative Thinking and Idea Generation

Sparkle Sparkle!Well, my friend and I went for a 1/2 day trip to Subang last week.

At first, we planned to get our design material stuff from an art shop at Sunway, take our lunch at that area then way back off to PJ.

But then we changed our mind and we drove to Subang, which is nearby Sunway to have our lunch.
The Korean BBQ restaurant was closed for lunch break when we stepped into it at 3.02pm.
The manager keep apologize to us as they are not serving and having a break.
So, we decided to look for other restaurant nearby to have our lunch, and finally we have chosen PizzaHut.

While we were waiting for our food, I am observing the interior of the restaurant. When I looked at those painting hanged on the wall, suddenly a voice whisper into my ears and told me that acrylic painting is not cheap and acrylic artist could earn a lots of money from it.

Acrylic is a painting media similar to oil painting media.  Acrylic will become harden after dried and it feels like a layer of plastic on top of the paper.

Then I remembered someone mentioned about  restaurant such as PizzaHut would buy acrylic painting from freelance artist to hang in their restaurant.

So I told all of my friends who are all designers about this. I told them that not necessary only design using computer can earn, hand painting is much more costly than computer aided painting because hand painting will be the one and only painting in the world and even if you imitate it, it still won't look 100% same as the original.

Therefore I came out with an idea, which is we can create a website and try to sell our artwork. We no need to worry about is there anyone would buy our work, because everyone's point of view is different, and if you thought it is a poor design, others might appreciate the design.

Well if we success, I hope that I can produce a lots of good quality work and at the same time improve my skill and creativity.

I remembered when I first knew and add 1 of my graphic design seniors in facebook, I found that the information about where he work caught my eyes. His profile stated that he work for a design company, and I was wonder isn't he still studying?

After that, I clicked into the design company webpage and I found that it's a freelance design company which consist of a lots of competition.
This is how it works.

   Create a design brief which is simply a clear outline of what you need designed. To begin, post this brief to 99designs and choose a design package.

   Collaborate with the designers

   Designers then submit concepts to compete for your prize. Be sure to provide continual feedback to help the designers deliver a concept you love!

            At the completion of your contest, you'll need to pick your favorite design and award a winner.                              
            You'll then receive the final design along with copyright to the original art work.

            It's that easy!

These steps are for those who wish to get a design. Designers have to send in their works for respective contest and they shall wait for the result to be announced.

So after that I understand why he can study and earn money at the same time. This type of design freelance is not the same as the freelance job outside. You would no need to keep on correct your design after you submit it, because the creator of the contest will choose the design that he/she prefer the most. If you go for the design freelance job outside, they would ask you to correct the design until they are satisfied, and till the end you wouldn't know whether they will still pay you for the design or not. So. it's more waste of time compared to the contest type design freelance job.
Seems that I always wished to earn money while studying, so it would be great if I join this company's contest.

Well I think that, if I join this contest always, I'll face a lots of different deadlines, theme, requirement of design etc. which may also improve my design skill and creativity!

Inspiration? I really need inspiration badly now! Inspiration on what should I write for this exercise!

I need to think of a concept for my Drawing II's assignment I. It's about Malaysia Tourism, I need to promote it through my drawing.

I went for a vacation last year and it inspire me now! I went to Sabah last year, and I think I should promote it because it's really an awesome place to visit and not really all Malaysian put Sabah in their vacation's destination list. I choose Sabah as my destination and the concept will be relaxation.

Now I shall show you why I choose Sabah.

Well I never expect that I will have this unexpected exercise for my subject Creative Thinking and Idea Generation which is "Write a blog every week".It's a bit weird but yet it's something different from other subjects, and it's more interesting for sure!

So now I'm going to start the first exercise with the theme given by lecturer "INSPIRATION".

Okay, what inspire me? Go with the basic one, why do I write blog, and who or what have inspired me to write blog?

During my form 5 year, I have some friends who always write their stories on blog, and every time after they update their blogs for sure I'll visit it. They always update their stories with tons of photo, and I'll always see a lots of people from all over Malaysia visit my friends' blogs  and commented about it. From this way, they get a lots of attentions from other people. I wish to share my story to other people else like what they are doing, so this is what makes me start blogging.

At that time, I'm not a Facebook everyday user yet, so I didn't really share something about me on Facebook. Even though I am everyday user, Facebook still can't fight with blog, as blog is still the best way to write a diary, story or something like I do now.

So when it comes to the end of the year 2010, I finish my SPM and I started to look for information on how to create a blog, and THIS IS HOW IT LOOKS!

Unfortunately,  I only manage to write 20+ posts since I started to blog (very very less compare to other bloggers). The reason is I am lazy to upload the photos because my internet line is so sooo slow! I can't write my story without the photos because a lots of thing happen I cant describe with words, so that's why. =)
But now I think I need to get back on track because I need to write at least a blog every week for my subject.

Okay, as I mentioned earlier I was chosen to be special guest in a tv show right? The show called "Wonder Explorer" by 8TV, every Saturday 6pm on 8TV. You guys can't see me again because my episode already over, 24th of December 2011. A little disappointed too because I was at Sabah for a trip and at that time it's my episode. GRRRR!

Well there is a way to watch it, on TONTON, but I was upset with the management as I can't register as a member to watch my episode, it keep appear what stupid error that made me can't register. (You need to register an account in order to watch in TONTON)
